Why do you make art?

I have been drawing and painting all my life. It is a part of who I am and has always been there. I paint objects because there is something incredibly meditative about making an everyday object that we take for granted seem like a big deal. It is the everyday and simple things that bring meaning and substance to our lives. I have returned to flowers many times because they are just pretty for the sake of being pretty. A gift of flowers can mean so many things, all of which come from a place of simple kindness.
